Sunghee Ahn specializes in teaching introductory academic writing to second language writers.
Teaching Interests
Sunghee's teaching interests include developing theme-based writing curriculums and designing instructional material with emphasis on modeling and metacognition. Her teaching approach focuses on helping second language writers develop close reading strategies and connect reading and writing practices.
Research
Sunghee's research interests are in second language writing pedagogy, in particular reading-writing connections, writing-about-writing (WAW) approach to teaching first-year writing, and instructional support for second language writers. In her recent collaborative teaching research, she experimented with implementing a unique reading support system for first-year writing students.
