GENERAL HELP

The Library's Circulation Desk assistance with library resources and services. You can get assistance with your library account, finding library materials, booking a study room, getting course reserve materials, connecting with a librarian for research help, and troubleshooting simple technical issues.

RESEARCH ASSISTANCE

TUJ librarians are available to provide research assistance in a variety of subject areas. Assistance can take different forms including consultation about research strategies, how to evaluate sources and cite them appropriately, to assistance with a database search, or other research support needed to complete your assignments and projects.

AUDIO AND VIDEO MATERIALS

TUJ's DVD collection is mostly closed-captioned for the deaf and hard of hearing, and some content is described for those with vision disabilities. The accessibility of these materials is indicated in the Library Search  catalog record. All streaming videos have subtitles, closed captions, transcripts, or some combination.

PRINT BOOKS AND JOURNALS

Library staff can assist in locating and retrieving shelved library materials at TUJ.  Requests to have items retrieved from the book stacks may also be made in advance by phone or email.

ELECTRONIC BOOKS AND JOURNALS

Most Temple University online databases  have fully accessible interfaces and accessible textual content. A limited number of online databases offer a text-to-speech feature for selected full-text articles. However, some older online materials may not be fully accessible. If specific resources you need are not screen-readable, you can request an electronic format suitable for screen reader software through the TUJ Accessibility Services office.

PHOTOCOPYING/SCANNING

If operating a photocopier/scanner is not possible due to a disability, library staff can assist with photocopying. The extent of photocopying must be within copyright guidelines.
