Message from the Executive Director
Welcome to Temple University, Japan Campus KYOTO!
It is with great excitement and pride that I welcome you to the newest chapter in Temple University's storied history – the Kyoto satellite location of our Japan Campus. For over 40 years, TUJ has been a beacon of world-class education in Tokyo, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs from a top-ranked public American university. As we enter our fifth decade, our growth and acclaim have paved the way for this significant expansion into Kyoto.
On January 6th, 2025, TUJ KYOTO opened its doors, providing students with an unparalleled opportunity to experience global education in the Kansai region. This new multi-building campus in Kyoto not only enhances our international presence but also offers students the unique benefits of studying in two of Japan's most remarkable cities: Tokyo and Kyoto.
At TUJ, we take pride in our multicultural and inclusive environment, with students from countries and regions. In Tokyo, undergraduate and graduate students benefit from courses taught entirely in English by expert faculty from around the globe. TUJ KYOTO will uphold these standards, providing a rich, interactive learning experience that cultivates critical skills as part of the liberal arts traditions of a top-tier American university. Our mission is to foster a borderless and innovative academic experience, empowering students to thrive in a globalized world.
Please join me and my team at TUJ KYOTO, and embark on a transformative journey that will shape your future and broaden your horizons. We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you in achieving your academic and personal goals.
Looking forward to meeting you in Kyoto.
Warm regards,
Katsumi Kishida
