American literature, especially the twentieth-century novel.

Mark Azzopardi is Associate Professor of Intellectual Heritage and Modern Literature. He was born in Sydney and completed his BA (Honours) and PhD at the University of Sydney, where he taught in the Department of English before coming to TUJ in 2015. Prior to his current position, he was Academic Coordinator of TUJ's Undergraduate Bridge Program.

His research explores American literature's national and international dimensions, and he has presented at academic conferences in Australia, England, China, and Japan. He recently completed a book chapter on the writing of E.L. Doctorow.
