Karen Hill Anton wrote the columns “Crossing Cultures” for The Japan Times and “Another Look” for Chunichi Shimbun for fifteen years. She lectures internationally on her experience of cross-cultural adaptation, and raising four bilingual, bicultural children. Karen is the author of the widely acclaimed memoir The View From Breast Pocket Mountain, winner of the Memoir Magazine 2022 Grand Prize. Originally from New York City, she has made her home in rural Shizuoka since 1975.​
