Kazuya Saito is a professor of Second Language Acquisition at the Institute of Education, University College London (UK), and a Distinguished Research Professor at the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies, Tohoku University (Japan). His research specializes in second language speech learning, with a focus on pronunciation, listening, and individual differences in language learning. His work has been published in leading international journals, including Language Learning, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Journal of Memory and Language, Cognition, and Journal of Experimental Psychology. He is a recipient of the JSPS Award 2024, Japan's highest recognition for early- to mid-career researchers.
