Last update: May 2011
A GenEd course counts in one GenEd area only.
All GenEd course numbers begin with "08XX."
Grade Change and Repeat Policy
See Grades, Grading, and GPA, and Repeating a Course.
Credit/No Credit
Students may not take GenEd courses for credit/no credit.
Withdrawal Policy
See Withdrawal from Courses.
Course Sequencing
Students are advised to take the three-semester sequence formed by Analytical Reading & Writing and Mosaic I & II as soon as possible after entering Temple in order and in successive semesters.
Second Degrees
For students who hold an undergraduate degree from another recognized four-year university and who elect to pursue a second baccalaureate degree, schools and colleges may waive up to 9 credits of degree requirements outside the new major. Students must consult with the Academic Advising Center (AAC).
For students who hold an undergraduate degree from Temple University, they may have all GenEd requirements waived. Students must consult with the AAC.
Core and GenEd Correspondence for Grade Replacement
Students may replace a grade of a Core course from which they previously received an insufficient grade.
The following replacement options are currently available. Since the process is not automatic, students must facilitate GenEd Substitute Course Repeat Form with an academic advisor. Contact the AAC to schedule an appointment. The repeat course, however, may not be used to satisfy multiple areas of Core.
