Located on the campus of Seibo Jogakuin in Kyoto and the former Kyoto headquarters of the Japanese Imperial Army (designated a registered tangible cultural property), TUJ KYOTO comprises two large university buildings just a short 12-minute walk from the famous Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. The campus is easily accessible via the JR Inari station, just two stops from Kyoto Station, or the Keihan Fujinomori station, just a 4-minute walk from campus.
TUJ KYOTO will operate on a flexible four-day class schedule (Monday-Thursday) and will cater to several different populations seeking to study in Kyoto for a semester or two, including:
- First-year and transfer students
- Students from our Tokyo campus
- Study abroad students from the United States and other countries
- Students of the Temple Japan Entry Year Program (TJEY)
Notably, students in Kyoto can concurrently take advantage of nearly one hundred online courses offered through our Tokyo campus each semester.
For first year and transfer students, TUJ KYOTO offers courses in first-year writing, math, Japanese, Intellectual Heritage, and General Education. For students interested in a short-term study-away experience, TUJ anticipates offering courses focusing on Japan, Asian studies, Japanese, tourism and hospitality, and General Education.
