Culture and Identity Clubs provide students a space to express themselves and connect with others who share or are interested in similar cultural backgrounds and identities.
Student organizations—created and run by students—are overseen by Student Engagement which is housed within the Office of Student Services and Engagement (OSSE).
*Please keep in mind clubs may choose to be inactive during certain semesters. If your favorite club is marked inactive this semester, check again on the following semester and they may be active then, or reach out to the club leaders directly to follow up on the status of the club!
CSSA is a campus organization dedicated to bringing together Chinese students, scholars, and those interested in Chinese culture. By organizing cultural celebrations, community events, and collaborative activities, CSSA creates a supportive, inclusive space that encourages cultural understanding and meaningful connections across the campus community.
We advocate for all disabilities, the seen, unseen, mental health, and diversity. Join us to meet fellow owls, and build a support group for everyone in all sizes!
In the Japanese Culture Club, we explore a new topic related to Japanese culture every week. We will learn about traditional Japanese arts, foods, fashion, activities, music, and historical sites, and experience them firsthand through workshops and field trips. As we learn together, we aim to introduce Japanese culture to others.
Welcome to TUJ’s Latin & Hispanic Student Society! We celebrate the diverse traditions, languages, and histories of Latin American and Hispanic communities. Our club is an inclusive space that brings together students with a passion for exploring the colorful and multifaceted aspects of Latin and Hispanic culture. All are welcome— you do not have to be Latin or Hispanic in origin to join!!

The TUJ Pacific Islanders Club celebrates the diverse cultures and traditions of the pacific islands. We strive to create a community for student islanders, as well as people who want to learn more about the islands, to connect, share, and learn through cultural events, performances, and gatherings. Our goal is to foster community, raise cultural awareness, and promote the values of the Pacific Islands.

We are the Spanish Language Club. We welcome learners of all levels who want to practice speaking Spanish. Members have opportunities to speak Spanish with each other as well as with fluent Spanish speakers. We also organize events and activities to help members improve their Spanish skills.
Thai Club is a welcoming community dedicated to celebrating and sharing the rich traditions, history, and customs of Thailand. The TUJ African Society is a community dedicated to celebrating and sharing the rich diversity of African cultures. Our mission is to create a space where students of African descent, and anyone interested in Africa can connect, learn, and grow together. Through cultural events, discussions, performances, and collaborations, we aim to promote understanding, pride, and unity while showcasing Africa's vibrant traditions, history, and contemporary influence around the world.

Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ students and allies at TUJ and Showa Women’s University. We also want to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues to the greater student population. Here are some activities that we typically do: ~ Gathering and sharing resources on living as an LGBTQ+ individual in Japan ~ Discussing current topics relating to LGBTQ+ folk around the world ~ Organizing fun events to educate and exchange with the TUJ / SWU community, awareness campaigns and posters ~ Movie / TV show / anime etc screenings for the club and for campus members ~ Multiple events and activities for Pride Month ~ Outings to festivals and events ~ Social/friend-making activities to connect to other Queer + Allied students in TUJ and SWU

We are TUJ BSU (Temple University Japan Black Student Union). As a club to appreciate black culture from around the world, TUJ BSU plans to educate and share people of colors rich culture and history with TUJ's student body. Feel free to join our club and learn more!
Our Chinese Language Club provides opportunities to learn Chinese and experience some cultural fun for students learning Chinese including beginners. We also have tutoring service by volunteers of native Chinese speakers to guide you to answer your questions about Chinese. In addition to the language stuff, we also have plans to provide opportunities to get to know traditional Chinese culture at our activities.
