Hello from TUJ LEAD. We would like to introduce to you the May 2022 LEAD Newsletter "Stand Up for Social Justice". This time we are covering the two years since the murder of George Floyd, the horrible 2022 Buffalo shooting, voices from TUJ students, and more. Check the details below.

Remembering George Floyd 1973 - 2020

It has been two years since the murder of George Floyd, an event that led to the outrage of millions of people and sparked large Black Lives Matter protests around the world. From TUJ LEAD we would like to remember this event so that the memory of George Floyd and the commitment to social justice remain present in our daily lives.

Buffalo Shooting - May 14th, 2022

A few weeks ago, American society woke up to horrible news: a racially motivated murder in the city of Buffalo (NY) perpetrated by a white supremacist. Our thoughts are with the victims of this tragedy and their families.

Student Voices

"Our global community is only as tall as we stand together. Only as free as equal is our individual freedoms and opportunity. And only as devoted to peace to the length that we disavow violence."

"It is too often that people allow their perceptions of other backgrounds to become misconstrued by elements of social media, their surrounding peers/family, etc. Real social justice against these issues begins when every person, student, and faculty member, is intentional about educating themselves about the history and systems that allow racism and hate crimes to thrive to this day."
