TUJ uses dorm facilities in the greater Tokyo area and has a live-in dorm manager to support TUJ students. In accordance with Temple University policies, all TUJ facilities including the dorms are no-smoking and no-alcohol. A dorm manual with explanations on other rules and policies is distributed at the time of check-in. For those who are assigned a room at TUJ contracted dorms, here is the housing policy .  Students found in violation of these rules may be subject to disciplinary procedures under Temple University's Student Conduct Code. Depending on the severity and frequency of the violation, students may be expelled from TUJ housing and/or the university.

Homestay

Nextage (Homestay in Japan)  offers the exceptional opportunity for TUJ students to live with Japanese families. This is a good option for students who wish to become more immersed into Japanese culture and language. In order to make the best of this experience, students will be expected to adjust to the host family's living arrangement, "live locally," eat a Japanese diet with the host family (breakfast and dinner), participate in Japanese family life, and spend meaningful time with the family. Students will make a private contract with Nextage and abide by all the terms and conditions set by them after selecting the homestay option in TUJ housing application form. Students agree that Nextage will communicate with TUJ regarding the entry into homestay arrangements and the status of the homestay.

Class of 2024, Major(main campus): Anthropology

During my time at TUJ, pursuing a homestay allowed me to deeply connect with Japanese language and culture. Speaking Japanese every day at home, my language skills improved to the point of becoming conversational. My host family introduced me to Japanese holidays, and we celebrated together, even attending local soccer and futsal matches. It was an unforgettable experience that I'm immensely grateful for. I strongly encourage homestays at TUJ to build community connections, try new foods, play games, and learn from people with unique perspectives. I would pursue it again given the chance.)
