Seminars and Workshops
Throughout the school year, the Counseling Office provides workshops and seminars to help support students academically, socially, and emotionally. This semester we are offering the following workshops:
In this workshop, we will facilitate a discussion about the cultural adjustment process. We will discuss stages of adjustment, as well as identity formation. We will identify common challenges and complexities involved in adjusting to Japanese society, and offer ways of easing adjustment. The discussion will have a particular focus on the role of relationships in navigating cultural clashes and adjustment.

Coping with Depression
In this workshop, we will start by discussing the symptoms of depression and some of the common causes which lead to feeling this way. We will then shift the focus by discussing strategies to reduce the severity of symptoms and working towards living a happy and healthy life. At the end of this workshop, participants will be invited (voluntary) to sign-up for an ongoing support group.
