Overview of Position

The Office of Student Services and Engagement (OSSE) is creating an additional Student Engagement Coordinator position with a primary focus on residential life. For our degree-seeking students, this early experience in the dorm plays a vital role in retention and a student’s overall success at TUJ. The Student Engagement Coordinator is tasked with developing activities and programming aimed at fostering an inclusive and vibrant living environment that encourages the development of students’ sense of self and deepens their connection to the TUJ community. The activities and the programming should also help the students get used to life in Japan, allowing them to become comfortable and familiar with the culture, language, and living environment.

In addition to events and programming at the dorm, as a member of the Student Engagement team, the person in this position will work with other team members to organize our regular semester activities and other Student Engagement initiatives. All Student Engagement staff support OSSE for New Student Welcome Week, office-sponsored events, and student walk-in inquiries.
