Event Recap: Edo Kiriko Workshop

November 15, 2025

A student participating in the Edo Kiriko Workshop

On November 15th, a group of TUJ students embarked on an exciting adventure early in the morning. Meeting at Asakusa Station, the group was eager to explore a new aspect of Japanese culture. The Edo Kiriko workshop was about to begin!

Edo Kiriko is a traditional Japanese glass-cutting art form that originated during the Edo period. Students had the opportunity to participate through hands-on experience at the Sokichi Glass Factory. The workshop, led by two skilled instructors, was filled with enthusiasm, and one student even requested to make an extra glass.

As the workshop concluded, participants left with smiles on their faces, having engaged in enriching conversations about history and culture, and having made beautifully crafted glasses.

Program Board would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to all participants—the students, Sokichi Glass Factory, and OSSE—for making this opportunity to learn through experience possible. We hope to see you in the near future!
