Is TUJ Kyoto Housing required for me?

All students receiving a new student visa sponsored by TUJ are required to stay in TUJ-sponsored housing during their first semester in Kyoto. Students who are not visa-sponsored are not required to use TUJ-sponsored housing. If you wish to stay, please email Kyoto OSSE to arrange a room in TUJ Kyoto Housing. If you are interested in applying for housing without a visa sponsorship requirement, please contact the Office of Student Services and Engagement (Kyoto) directly.

To fulfill the housing requirement, visa-sponsored students must submit a Housing Plan via the TUJ Application Hub. The link becomes available at the bottom of the Visa Application tab after the visa COE application deadline each semester.

We allow multi-semester stays!

Students who are continuing into the following semester may remain in their room over the break by submitting the Housing Plan Form. To extend their stay, they must also enroll in courses for the following semester during the priority registration period. The Housing Plan Form will be sent out during the second month of each semester, so please be sure to check your TU Mail inbox regularly.
