On March 27th, 2026, TUJ LEAD marked its first foray into holding a large-scale event at TUJ’s Sangenjaya Campus, in collaboration with TUJ Student Government. Held from 6PM to 8PM, the Parliament and Cafeteria spaces were filled with more than 10 identities and backgrounds represented and celebrated by the TUJ student community.
The highlight of the fair was the engaging performances by Music Club, Pacific Islanders Club, and finally Dance Club on the Parliament stage. Particularly of note was a song and two hula dances by the Pacific Island members, bringing to life the importance of remembrance and celebration of our identities and cultures.
Alongside performances, students were encouraged to experience different foods and various activities offered by participating clubs and individuals. Participants explored the world through foods such as Khachapuri, a national dish in Georgia (located between Russia and Turkey), spam musubi, a Hawaiian fusion of Japanese and American cultures. Providing an insight into identities, students were attracted by a TUJ classroom simulation for someone with visual and audial sensitivities, while Pride Club displayed a variety of art created by the hard work of their members.
The event ended with a lasting impression on TUJ LEAD student members, to continue and improve its mission to provide belonging and connection for all of its diverse and vibrant communities. By mixing fun with learning, we celebrate and advocate for all students and look ahead to growing with our fellow owls and our ever-expanding university.
