Location:  Aizu-Wakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture
Aizu-Wakamatsu

Venture north as we head on a road trip to Aizu-Wakamatsu in Fukushima Prefecture! This area is steeped in history, and we’ll be stepping back in time to the Edo Period with visits to Ouchi-juku village, a postcard-perfect Edo post town, and Tsuruga Castle, the former seat of the region‘s samurai lords. We’ll be getting hands on with Fukushima’s culture in an akabeko (a red folk toy) painting, and visiting a rare, double-spiral pagoda too! And if that’s not enough, we’ll also visit the Goshikinuma – five mystical lakes in varying ethereal shades of green and blue. So join us for a jam-packed trip exploring this beautiful corner of Japan!
