Roll up your sleeves and get stuck in to farm life as we harvest rice in collaboration with Hosei University. Learn how to harvest the one of the most important foods in Japan, and try it yourself under the guidance of a local farmer. Meet Japanese university students from Hosei University, and enjoy working together to support a small farming community in Tokyo!

  • This activity is for first year UG TUJ only. To be eligible, you must be in your first year of undergraduate study at TUJ. This refers to students who started in Spring 2026, Summer 2026 and Fall 2026. 
  • Visiting students (e.g. Study Abroad or Exchange students) are not eligible to participate.
  • Includes: Rice harvesting experience, work gloves, exchange with Hosei University students, lunch
