Our friends over at KYOCRAFT have their very own workshop/atelier, conveniently located near the Uzumasa-Tenjingawa subway station. The ground floor is an open space where you'll get hands on with all kinds of craft activities, such as making your own chopsticks and even weaving a mini tatami mat! On the second floor gallery, you'll enjoy a tour of their exhibited items made by Kyoto based artists, using various traditional techniques.
In addition to all of this, on one more floor up they have their very own vegan cafe/restaurant, immaculately decorated with various forms of traditional Kyoto based crafts and textiles, with themed rooms and a wonderful Zen atmosphere. Our day will include a lunch prepared for us using delicious local ingredients, which we can enjoy in the atmosphere of traditional Kyoto craft arts. As a special extra, for those interested there will be the opporunity to be dressed up in a kimono, and to keep it for the day so you can explore the city or the local sites whilst dressed up in traditional Japanese attire!
Join us for a day at KYOCRAFT to learn all about Kyoto crafts, go hands on yourself, and enjoy some delicious food to boot.
