TUJ invites high school students to a summer of language and cultural experiences in Tokyo. The 8-night program includes a unique mix of Japanese language and elective classes. With adventures in Tokyo, an overnight excursion to Nikko, and a trip to DisneySea, this will be your summer to remember!

TUJ High School Summer Program 2026

Dates:	Wednesday, July 29 – Thursday, August 6, 2026
Where:	Temple University, Japan Campus in Tokyo, plus excursions to Nikko and Tokyo surroundings.
Program Fee (regular):	340,000 JPY (additional 20,000 JPY registration fee applies)
Eligibility:	The program is open to high school students entering 9th-12th grade in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Japanese language classes and a choice from electives modeled after TUJ undergraduate courses

Important Notes

No Japanese ability is required to attend the program. Beginner, intermediate and advanced Japanese language classes are planned to be offered.
Class and elective availability and content is subject to change.
Placement in your preferred elective is not guaranteed.

Program Fee Details

340,000 JPY

Additional 20,000 JPY registration fee applies.

Includes 8 nights’ accommodation, all meals, classes, program-related transportation and entrance fees to all program-related events.
Does not include airfare to and from Japan or travel insurance. All participants are required to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover the entirety of the program.

Important Notes　

Payment is due by May 1, 2026 and is strictly non-refundable.
Non-refundable 20,000 JPY registration fee due within one week of acceptance to the program.
Payment deadline for students requiring a visa to visit Japan is April 1, 2026.

About a Visa to Visit Japan　

Many nationalities qualify for a visa exemption and do not need a visa for short-term stays in Japan. Nationalities not included in the list below on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) website must apply for a visa on their own. Please contact us for details.
