Dr. Yukari Sato is Chief Executive Officer of Future Analytics, Inc. A distinguished economist, business leader, and public servant, she served as a member of Japan’s National Diet for 16 years and spent two decades with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
During the second Abe Administration, Dr. Sato served concurrently as State Minister of the Environment, State Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and State Minister of the Cabinet Office. During the Suga Administration, she served as Director of the LDP Policy Research Council’s Committee on Economy and Industries, where she played a leading role in shaping the party’s economic and industrial policy agenda.
Prior to entering public service, Dr. Sato built a distinguished career in finance and economic research. She served as Chief Economist at Credit Suisse Securities in Japan, where she was ranked the No. 2 Japan economist globally in a leading survey of major U.S. institutional investors. Earlier in her career, she worked as an economist at Citigroup Securities and J.P. Morgan Securities in Japan.
In addition to her current leadership at Future Analytics, Dr. Sato serves as an outside director of Hosokawa Micron Corporation, SRS Holdings, Inc., and Sentient KK, and as an outside auditor of Aqualine, Inc.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Sato has held visiting professorships and research fellowships at numerous institutions, including Kwansei Gakuin University, Chuo University, and Hiroshima University of Economics. She currently teaches International Politics at Temple University Japan’s Kyoto campus.
Dr. Sato earned a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University, a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University’s School of General Studies. She also pursued advanced studies at the Graduate Institute of International Studies and the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Geneva, Sciences Po Paris, and the University of Paris.
