Dr. Sachio Semmoto as Special Advisor to President and Honorary Professor. This appointment that reflects his extraordinary legacy in innovation, leadership, and global higher education. A pioneer of Japan’s modern telecommunications industry, Dr. Semmoto co-founded DDI (now part of KDDI) and later established eAccess and eMobile, helping to expand mobile connectivity and broadband infrastructure across the nation. Most recently, Dr. Semmoto founded AI Biomedical Inc. and Quality Cloud Corporation where he serves as Chairman. Dr. Semmoto has also served as an outside board member of several world class companies including NetApp, Reuters, and Telecom New Zealand. His entrepreneurial vision and strategic foresight have not only transformed industry landscapes but have also shaped the digital foundations that underpin today’s global economy.

Equally distinguished in academia, Dr. Semmoto brings a profound commitment to teaching, research, and the advancement of knowledge. A graduate of Kyoto University and holder of a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida, he has served as a professor at Keio University and held academic appointments at leading institutions including UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, and Stanford University.
