Services & Facilities
The TUJ library, which focuses on English-language publications, holds over 50,000 books, a browsing collection of magazines and journals, and more than 3,300 DVD titles. Students can also access the online resources of Temple University or borrow materials from Japanese institutions and libraries worldwide.
The Office of Student Services (OSS) supports TUJ’s diverse student population as they become members of the university community. In addition to providing assistance with the visa application process, coordination of financial aid/GI Bill-related matters, and housing, OSS provides orientations to help students adapt to the academic and social life at TUJ. OSS also works with the Student Government and other student organizations to create events and activities that appeal to all TUJ students.
The Career Development Office conducts career fairs and seminars on employment strategies, provides career counseling, and offers guidance on writing resumes and interviewing techniques applicable to both Japanese and multinational companies in Japan.
Academic advisors provide students with group and individual advising sessions. Students can receive advising on their academic plans and options, graduation status, transfer to Temple's main campus in Philadelphia, and other academic questions or concerns.
Computer Labs & Services
TUJ has computer labs equipped with Windows, Mac and Unix computers with a variety of office and design software applications. Campus-wide wireless network is available. The office also provides computer related support to students, staff and faculty.
Professional counselors are available to provide free and confidential counseling services both in English and Japanese. The services include individual and group counseling and phone consultation. The office also offers workshops on stress management, time management, communication skills and other topics.
Teaching & Learning Center
The Teaching & Learning Center supports students in academic writing, math, Japanese, and other subjects through TLC TUmail Tutoring and TLC Zoom Study Groups. Students submit work through TUmail and receive feedback within 24 hours, or they participate in regularly scheduled TLC Zoom Study Groups in a variety of subjects. At the Test Center at TUJ, you can take standardized tests, such as TOEFL, LSAT, CLEP, and many more, some on a regular basis and others as needed. The Test Center also provides proctor services for individuals as well as test administration services for organizations and corporations.
The TUJ Registrar's Office is responsible for academic record maintenance (e.g. manual registration input, certified document issuance, etc.) in order to assist students in achieving their academic goals. Not only do we handle various registration-related data input and release for TUJ staff members and students, we are also committed to collaborating with the Main Campus Registrar's Office to share mutual issues and make necessary changes in our procedures.
