TUJ is taking flight — Again!
Emerging as one of Japan's leading international universities, TUJ has seen rapid growth across programs, partnerships, faculty, facilities, and enrollment. Our momentum is unstoppable — and with your support, our greatest flight is still ahead.
Where We Are Today
City Campus
Opened in 2019, City Campus is TUJ's largest academic facility. Originally designed for 1,600 students, it now serves more than 3,300 degree-seeking students from around the world —double our initial projection.
TUJ Kyoto
Opened in 2025, TUJ Kyoto hosts 350 students in one of Japan's most culturally rich environments. With new academic offerings and a popular adult study abroad program on the horizon, Kyoto is rapidly becoming a major academic hub.
Where We Are Going
Hillside Center – Tokyo2
TUJ's next bold step arrives in August 2026: the Hillside Center — a new Tokyo-area facility in Mizonokuchi, just minutes from City Campus. This isn't just another building. The Hillside Center marks a series of firsts for TUJ
- The first academic building TUJ has ever acquired.
- The first campus dedicated entirely to the first-year experience.
- The first space designed from to build community, confidence, and belonging from day 1.
Why focus on the first year? Because it matters most. It's when students form friendships, discover passions, and begin to define their future. TUJ students arrive from across the world — navigating a new culture, language, and independence all at once. The Hillside Center meets them at that pivotal moment.
How You Can Help: The First Year Fund
Buildings create the space, but experiences provide the transformation. Your support funds the experiences that will make a TUJ education unforgettable.
Through your support, the Hillside Center will provide students the following:
- A student food pantry to address food insecurity
- Emergency scholarships for students facing unexpected hardship
- A tiered interior garden and rooftop garden for reflection and community
- A 300-seat auditorium for lectures, performances, and global dialogue
- Enhanced library and Teaching & Learning Center spaces
- A baby grand piano to enrich campus life through music
- A fully equipped fitness center for student wellness
- Student life spaces for recreation, dance, and creative expression
- A dedicated music room for practice and performance
- Expanded sports facilities, including a pickleball court
These are more than amenities. They are our commitment to the whole student — their wellbeing, growth, and sense of belonging.
