Stephanie Yagata is a lecturer at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies, where she teaches in the Department of English Studies and the Graduate School of English Language Education and Research. Her courses include pronunciation, comparative education, inclusive English language education, and instructional design. She brings a diverse academic background to her work, holding graduate degrees in TESOL, speech-language pathology, and educational theory and practice, with an emphasis on the anthropology of education. Her experience as a school-based speech therapist and EFL/ESL instructor in Japan, the U.S., and Costa Rica informs her teaching practice and research interests. Stephanie's current research focuses on teacher education, teacher cognition, and the study of the quotidian in classrooms, qualitatively exploring the everyday experiences that shape teaching and learning. Her work aims to better understand the complexities of classroom dynamics and decision making in classrooms.
