Hana is the Director of Teaching Practices at TUJ where she supports Faculty, through consultations and workshops, to develop their educational practice, enhance student engagement, and align curricula and assessment. She completed the CAT’s Provost Teaching Academy in 2025. Hana continues to hone her teaching practice as a Lecturer in First Year Writing and Intellectual Heritage. Through the lenses of critical, learner-centred, and emancipatory pedagogy, Hana creates inclusive learning spaces for both students and colleagues.

In 2024, Hana founded and chaired the committee of TUJ’s inaugural Academic Conference, bringing together Faculty and Staff from across the campus to share knowledge and build community.

Before joining TUJ, Hana spent six years at King’s College London in the roles of Education Administrator and Teaching Fellow in Global Health. She led a volunteer group tasked with designing and delivering a Postgraduate Certificate in University Administration to healthcare administrators in Somaliland.

Hana earned her BA with honors in Politics & Applied Psychology from the University of Brighton and an MA with merit in International Education & Development from the University of Sussex. Her thesis explored how social, political, and economic context influenced Paulo Freire’s development of radical emancipatory pedagogy.
