Donna Tatsuki is a professor in the English Department, and director of the Graduate School for English Language Education and Research at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies. She is currently researching English as a Lingua Franca in Model United Nations simulations and the representations of gender/ethnicity in government approved language textbooks although she is interested in materials development and phonology. Her co-edited books include Pragmatics: Teaching Speech Acts (2010); Pragmatics: Teaching Natural Conversation (2011); Back to Basics: Filling the Gaps in Pragmatics Teaching Materials (2016); and Model United Nations Simulations and English as a Lingua Franca: New Perspectives on Best Practices (in press). She earned an Ed.D. and M. Ed. from Temple University Japan as well as a B. Mus,, B.Ed., and a Graduate Diploma in Operatic Performance from the University of Toronto.
