Certificate Programs
For those who have a degree in a law-related field, who have law-related professional experience, or who are legal practitioners, we offer two certificate programs:
- Certificate of International Law
- Certificate of American Legal Studies
A certificate from the Temple University demonstrates that you have engaged in the specialized study of American or international law in a program operated by a U.S. law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
Graduation Requirements
- Coursework completed within three years
- 12 credit hours – 9 credits must be either in international/comparative law or in U.S. law. The remaining 3 credit hours can be from either area
- An average grade of 2.0 or higher
Audit Class
Qualified candidates may audit law courses when space is available. "Auditing" means that Temple does not issue a grade or grant any credit towards a certificate or degree. Typically, students audit courses to expand their knowledge of U.S. and international law or to prepare for LLM or JD studies in the United States. Audit students are expected to read and prepare for classes, but they are not required to take the final exam. Audit students have the flexibility of learning without examination pressure or course attendance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our certificate programs are open to those who have a degree in a law-related field, who have law-related professional experience, or who have a law degree. If you do not have a law degree, we may interview you to determine your eligibility.
