Global and Regional Compliance and Ethics Programs in Japan
The Challenges and Opportunities for Harmonization
Temple Law School’s Center for Compliance & Ethics hosts this roundtable to launch its educational initiatives in international compliance and ethics at the Temple University Japan Campus, Law Program.
Businesses in Japan face many challenges in trying to harmonize their global and regional compliance and ethics programs. Often there is little opportunity to hear directly from corporates and legal service providers about the compliance and ethics issues they handle. During this roundtable, our distinguished speakers, who are industry leaders in global compliance and ethics, will share their “war stories” and discuss important issues related to compliance enforcement, investigation, and program development in cross-jurisdictional settings. The roundtable will provide a forum for participants to learn valuable lessons, including dealing with cross-jurisdictional and cross-cultural factors affecting Japanese and international businesses. Moderated by Alexander Dmitrenko, Chair of the Temple Law Japan Committee for the Center’s Advisory Board.
