FAQ

How is MiM different from an MBA?

The Master in Management (MiM) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs are frequently compared as they share core business courses in areas like accounting, finance, data analysis, information technology, and management.

However, if you are a recent college graduate with little to no work experience or a business professional in the early stages of your career, then the MiM program may be a better fit. MiM provides foundational knowledge and the essential business acumen needed to launch a successful career in today's global job market. The MBA, on the other hand, is typically more suited for those with several years of professional experience who are aiming for leadership roles or career advancement.

Can TUJ sponsor my visa?

Yes. All non-Japanese students who intend to take classes and who do not have a resident, diplomatic, dependent, or spousal visa must acquire a Japanese student visa. Students cannot apply for a Japanese student visa independently.

Is English spoken in the classes and business offices?

English is the common language for both classes and general administrative activities. No Japanese proficiency is required to be a student at TUJ.

What can you tell me about studying in Japan?

There are many qualities that make Japan an ideal place to study:

  • Safety: Approximately fourteen million people call Tokyo home. Yet it remains one of the world’s safest major metropolises, with a lower crime rate than cities half its size.
  • Affordable Cost of Living: Compared to other big cities around the world, the average cost of living in Tokyo is relatively affordable.
  • Internship Opportunities: Japan and especially Tokyo continue to attract some of the world’s most successful multinational corporations. Students can set themselves apart by gaining hands-on experience in international business settings and networking with professionals in their fields of interest.
  • Exciting On and Off-Campus Life: TUJ is just two train stations from Shibuya and is convenient to other exciting downtown districts including Shinjuku, Roppongi and Asakusa.
