On May 29th, TUJ LEAD organized a tabling event in the lobby to promote the organization and the upcoming Tokyo Pride event on June 6th and June 7th. With this year’s theme being “Equal Rights today. A freer, fairer tomorrow”, Tokyo Pride aims to foster an inclusive environment and help individuals navigate life with joy and pride.

At the tabling event, students enjoyed voting for the LGBTQ+ topic that they are most interested in advocating for. Some of the topics include LGBTQ+ youth support, equal marriage and inclusive sex education. A marble machine was also set up to make the activity more engaging and help students randomly choose a topic before casting their votes.

The event successfully wrapped up with about 40 students visiting our booth. We look forward to seeing more Owls in the upcoming Tokyo Pride event to celebrate gender and other forms of diversity while fostering connections among LGBTQ+ individuals.
