Situated just North of Kyoto City is Kurama mountain, famed for its connections to the mythical tengu. Starting in the sleepy town of Kibune, we will embark upon a peaceful half day hike that will take us up and through Kurama mountain. The shrines in Kurama are said to be deeply spiritually energizing, so if you're looking for a mid semester recharge then this could be the perfect trip for you. Also, the legendary Kurama Onsen which has been closed for many years has finally reopened after extensive renovations! We'll be enjoying lunch at their restaurant, and bathing in the outdoor onsen available there, soaking in the incredibly scenery as the hot water soothes your aching muscles from the day's hike.
