Teaching Interests
Associate Professor Lynam has taught a wide range of classes in the Art and Asian Studies programs since joining Temple University Japan in 2007. He is former Co-Chair and faculty in the MFA in Graphic Design Program at Vermont College of Fine Arts, faculty at Meme Design School, and Visiting Critic at California Institute of the Arts.
Research
Associate Professor Lynam teaches, works, writes and researches at the intersection of graphic design, design education and design research. His interests are based in intellectual and aesthetic inquiry, not pat stereotypes of design as areas of "problem-solving" and "storytelling" — these descriptions of design (and thus, the assorted cultures that design are part and parcel of) are too simplistic. In lieu of "less is more", he would offer that "more is more".
