Asian Studies Department (College of Liberal Arts)

The Certificate in Asian Business and Society is available to students enrolled in any college at Temple University. The certificate requires five courses, three in Asian studies and two in the Fox School of Business and Management. It also requires background courses in economics and in an Asian language. Asian studies students can learn about business, and business students can learn about Asia. Other students will learn about both. The certificate will be noted on a student's transcript.

* The language requirement may also be satisfied by examination of oral/aural and reading skills in any Asian language approved by the Critical Languages Program Coordinator.

Note: The country of the Asian Studies Country Elective and the Asian Studies Writing Intensive Elective must match the country of the language studied. For example, if the language requirement is met with Japanese, then courses on Japan must be chosen for both the Country and Writing Intensive Electives.
