Commemorating the Fifth Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake

Message from the Dean

It has been five years since the tragic events of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and yet the scars left behind still run deep. We continue to remember and mourn for those who were lost, for their families and for Japan as a nation, but I am also proud to say that over the years many from the TUJ Community have done much to help those in the disaster zone through volunteer work, collaborative programs, and scholarship.

For a young person, five years is a long time, but for a region and a nation rebuilding from a disaster of this scale, five years is just a beginning. For as long as it takes to rebuild, Temple University will stand with Japan, continuing to serve in the task of building for the future.
