The Inaugural Distinguished TUJ Alumni Awards

he true measure of a university's greatness can be found in the achievements of its alumni.

As we prepare to celebrate our history as the largest and oldest foreign university campus in Japan, we seek first and foremost to honor and recognize you: our alumni. A central focus of our 40th anniversary activities will pay tribute to all those who have studied at the Japan campus – whether it was for one semester or several years.

We ask for your help in identifying and nominating individuals for our inaugural Distinguished TUJ Alumni Awards. We seek to identify alumni who have exemplified the school’s mission to elevate excellence.

This new award recognizes outstanding alumni who have demonstrated excellence in their personal and professional achievements no matter their particular endeavor or field: voluntary service, non-profit, the arts, science, sports, education or industry. We seek to honor those whose dedication and professionalism to their vocation or advocation merit the respect of their peers.

The nomination process for the inaugural Distinguished TUJ Alumni Awards will include and encompass canvassing alumni, administrators, and faculty. Wide participation is critical to the award selection process and your thoughtful participation in this process is greatly appreciated (submissions will be accepted until May 1, 2022).

To nominate someone for this award (self-nominations are welcome), we request that you answer a few brief questions by clicking HERE. (Nominations for 2022 have closed and will reopen in January for 2023 awardees.)

Eligibility for Distinguished TUJ Alumni Awards includes the following:

• Temple University, Japan Campus alumni (must have attended classes at TUJ for at least one semester in a degree program).
• Distinguished in his or her chosen business, profession or life work.
• Active in professional organizations.
• A person of such integrity and stature that TUJ will take pride in bestowing this recognition.
• A leader both professionally and within the community and demonstrates a commitment to community relations and philanthropy.
• Demonstrated the importance of a Temple University education.
