Areas of Expertise
Swinton is currently Assistant Dean, International Business Programs at Temple University, Japan Campus. He is also responsible for cross-boarder alliances with business schools in Europe and the US. Swinton has also served as the director of Temple Japan's MBA program (2003-2007).
Teaching Interests
Swinton teaches courses on persuasion, influence and negotiations, as well as courses on career development strategies and business presentation skills. Swinton also lectures on the competitive environment for Japanese business internationally.
Research
Areas of active inquiry for Swinton include social psychology and the use of social influence strategies in international business negotiations. He is also interested in the use of reflective learning in business and professional education.

Swinton volunteers for numerous organizations, recently including: OXFAM, American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (Vice Chair, Human Resource Management committee), Academy of International Business, Japan Stanford Association (board member 1999-2003) Tokyo English Life Line--TELL (current board member) and the Association of Japanese Business Studies.
