About the Event

Hiroyoshi Watanabe will lead a discussion on "Net-Native Nation Japan? Log on!". A Net-Native Nation is a society where the Internet is primary tool for social and economic activities. How does Japan compare with the US in the field of e-commerce, e-government, e-health care, e-education? Watanabe-san will also discuss Amazon.com’s role in the e-commerce area.

Hiroyoshi Watanabe is a graduate of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he obtained a BS in physics. He worked on creating an innovative society at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for more than 20 years. He was stationed at JETRO in New York City and also served as director for international IT affairs at the Ministry.
