Why did you choose to study in Japan?

I thought the prospect of traveling to Japan would bring me a lot of interesting experiences, so I came here. It’s also part of my major. I’m an international business student, so it was quite convenient.

Why did you specifically choose TUJ?

I went to Main Campus in Philadelphia, so it was rather convenient to transfer to the Japan campus.

What is your most memorable experience here at TUJ?

I think living with a Japanese homestay family really helped me a lot with my language learning process. It was also a lot of fun, too! They were a great family.

What do you like most about living and studying in Tokyo?

Because of how Tokyo is spread out, the areas are well-organized by train stations, making it very easy to travel around. During the week you usually study or whatnot, but on the weekends it is easy to travel with your friends and discover new parts of the city.

Do you have any favorite courses or instructors?

Hmmm, good question. I’ll tell you this right now. Japanese classes are going to be hard. They’re going to be tough, but you’ll be glad you had them because you learn so much. That’s why you came here right? Gambatte kudasai!

Do you have any advice for new students?

Do as much as you can to get involved with the culture. Language, food, people — just do your best to take in the Japanese experience.
