The TUJ library holds over 50,000 books, 3,300 videos, and a browsing collection of magazines and journals (including all of the standard education, TESOL, and linguistic journals). TUJ students and faculty also have access to the extensive online resources of Temple University through the TUPortal library website .
Before beginning your research you may want to review the research guides maintained by main campus library staff, beginning with the guides listed in the Education section . These guides will help you focus your research. Much of your searching will be conducted through databases. Of the over 750 databases available to the Temple community, the following are most valuable in the field of education:
- Academic Search Premier
- Education Full Text
- Education Research Complete
- Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts
- MLA International Bibliography
The following psychology databases are also valuable:
- Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
Additional psychology resources (including those related to tests and assessment) can be found in the Psychology Study Guides .
If you already have a journal name or a citation for an article, you can find which database provides access to that article using the Journal Finder .
For materials not currently owned by the TUJ library, please make your requests known to the library staff. We will arrange to purchase or borrow the item from another library.
Temple provides a number of citation managers to assist with your research. To compare the citation managers available to TUJ students check the Introduction for Citation Managers .
The library also provides photocopiers, scanners, printers, and computers for student use.
The materials available to the TUJ community are vast, complex, and always changing. Although many of your questions can be answered from the "How Do I....?" page, please request help from the TUJ library staff to make the most of the library's services.
