Aizu Wakamatsu Overnight Trip

June 15 @ 07:00 - June 16 @ 19:00
(Register by: May 29)
Max Capacity: 45 (TUJ students only)

Explore with us the Aizu Wakamatsu region in Northern Japan! On the first day we will visit Ouchijuku, a trade post on an old trade route with buildings from the Edo period. We will then visit the Tsurugajo Castle, which was one of the last samurai strongholds in Japan. After painting our own Akabeko, the “mascot” of the region, we will spend the night in Higashiyama Onsen, a hot-spring village hidden between mountains. On the second day, we will explore Goshikinuma, 5 lakes formed by a volcanic eruption. Before returning to Tokyo, we will stop at Sazaedo, a rare temple that hides a unique and tragic story.

See trip overview on Google Maps.
