TUJ Corporate Education Hosts Indonesian Delegation for Customized Training Program

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) Corporate Education conducted a two-day customized training program on Human Resource Management (HRM) and Human Resource Development (HRD) in Japan on October 1-2 for 22 senior HRM/HRD members from the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights. TUJ arranged the program as part of the Ministry’s Leadership Development program to help its members broaden their perspectives. Minoru Ohki, Business Development Supervisor of TUJ Corporate Education, designed and arranged the program this time.

On the morning of October 1, he introduced the organizational culture of Japanese companies as well as the evolution of HRM/HRD from the 1950s to the present day. He also provided an overview of emerging HR technology in Japan.

After lunch Dr. Yoshihiro Sato, President of the Institute of Culture and Information Technology, Inc. and a professor emeritus of Musashino University, presented human rights issues in Japan, human rights issues on the internet, and human rights training at public institutions.

On the morning of October 2, Professor Yukio Ukai, Executive Director of the Japan Association for Public Human Resources Development and Professor at Ritsumeikan University’s Graduate School of Public Policy, outlined the Japanese public service system and HRM/HRD of the central government of Japan.

After lunch, staff from Neo Career Co., Ltd. gave a demonstration of their HR technology services, including a motivation management system with facial expression recognition by artificial intelligence.

During each of the program sessions, participants asked many questions which made the training productive.

The program concluded with encouraging comments for further learning from Indonesia’s Inspector General and Director General of Public Law Administration.
