A scene from 2017 Minato Citizen's University

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) will host “2018 Minato Citizen’s University,” an annual public lecture series. It is the only series held in English among those held at universities within Minato City. TUJ has organized this series as a recurring part of a collaborative project with the city. Approximately 2,500 people have attended since 2007.

This year’s lectures, on the theme of “Community,” will examine the state of modern society as rapid technological development and globalization have changed the nature of our communities while expanding the meaning of what a community can be. Five professors and guest speakers, including our dean, will each consider “community” from the perspective of their area of expertise.
