“TUJ Room 2018” introduces Representative Officer and President of MGM Resorts Japan LLC Jason Hyland, one of the newest members of TUJ’s Board of Overseers (BOO). He has been a long-time supporter of TUJ especially while at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo as Deputy Chief of Mission (2014.7 – 2017.1) and Charge d’Affaires (2017.1-7). In the interview, he explores how his first encounter with the Japanese language changed his life and shares his rationale for his career shift from the foreign service to the hospitality and entertainment business.
TUJ Room interview series originated in 2012 to commemorate TUJ’s 30th anniversary, hosted by Midori Kaneko, chairperson of TUJ’s BOO. The series has featured members of the Board talking about business leadership, the importance of education, globalization, and more.
