[Cancelled] Putting Korea-Japan Relations Back on Track

Wednesday, May 28, 2014   19:30 - 21:00

Speaker:
  • Peter Beck (Korea Representative of the Asia Foundation, and an ICAS Adjunct Fellow)

This event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Relations between Seoul and Tokyo have reached a low point. Seemingly unresolvable disputes surrounding Japan’s occupation of Korea (1910-1945) cast a dark shadow over bilateral ties. Fortunately, the Korean and Japanese public’s attitudes about one another remain positive. At the same time, cooperating on a host of security and economic issues remains vital. Beck will outline strategies for improving bilateral ties.
