The internment of vast numbers of Uighurs and other Muslim residents of Xinjiang by the Chinese authorities has been relatively unreported in the media. China’s information control measures and travel restrictions have made it difficult for reporters, academics, and human rights organizations to cover this large-scale detention process and its consequences. Our panel will analyze the situation in Xinjiang and offer new insights on this situation.
