Did you know...?

Recent trends in Japan's workforce seem to indicate an increase in the number of foreign workers being employed by top Japanese companies. According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, as of October 2016 the number has exceeded 1,000,000 --the highest number recorded so far.

Along with this trend is also a surge in the number of employers who expect a high level of Japanese language skills from the foreign workers they hire. If you are one of those who are attracted to the idea of living and working in Japan, Japanese language ability will definitely be a plus to your existing set of skills.

Meet Matsukura-sensei, our Japanese Language Instructor!

Image of Aki Matsukura

Aki Matsukura graduated from the First Department of Literature at Waseda University. After working for a publishing company specializing in educational materials for 9 years, she started teaching Japanese in 2002. She is currently teaching classes at various Japanese language institutions and universities.

Many students who completed the JcpT preparation course contacted me with great news that they passed the exam. Other students gaining confidence through class participation started speaking in Japanese without hesitation, which also facilitated better communication with their Japanese friends and colleagues. This inspires me to continue teaching!"

What Our Students Are Saying

Image of Japanese Course Student

The course [Useful Japanese Conversation B] was practical, and I especially liked having actual conversations in the class. The course had a good pace for learning. It was a small class with a lot of participation. The instructor was very interactive.

The course [Advanced Beginner Japanese] was very good. The instructor is very patient and knows how to conduct class according to students' needs. I liked to learn practical vocabulary used day by day.

This course [Practical Business Japanese] gave me a ton of confidence and was very helpful for my daily interactions here in Tokyo.

We could have had more homework... I liked that we did listening and transcribing activities. Overall I really enjoyed this course. [Advanced Beginner Japanese]
