Course Details

This is a course for advanced beginners who have studied the basics of Japanese grammar and vocabulary. Students will build on what they have learned in JSL101/102. Using a variety of dialogue practice and practical exercises, students will improve vocabulary and gain a better grasp of grammatical concepts. In preparation for moving on to the next level, some reading exercises will also be covered in class. Students interested in taking this course are expected to be able to read hiragana and katakana. This course is suitable for the N5 level.

Special Note:

This course is repeatable.

JSL200 and JSL200-S courses cover the same curriculum as well as the same Japanese proficiency level. Depending on the number of new and repeating students and their Japanese language learning experience, the instructor decides on a required textbook and class materials each semester.
