Introduction to Data (Information) Management (MIS201)
This course addresses the issues of effective data management, analysis and reporting in a business environment. It focuses on the common issues and effective solutions to data management and reporting needs. Many people and organizations are still holding on to older models of data management that fail to utilize the full power of the PC and Office applications. Excel provides tools for instantly analyzing and summarizing large volumes of data in an intuitive and interactive way. Access can manage data from multiple sources including external downloads, data links and manual data entry. When these two tools are used together in a coordinated manner, remarkable efficiencies are achievable. This course explores the possibilities for effective information management strategies built around these two important applications.
