Branding and Identity Design (8 Weeks) (BID101)
This class will explore the nuances of branding identity and how businesses large and small create effective communication systems. We will review landmarks in the history of corporate identity through to the multifarious aspects of contemporary design, and consider the wide impact that branding has on our lives today. A major component of the class will involve the production of your own identity design system. Working on a series of identity design projects starting with a brand concept, including logo and word mark design, we will investigate the creative processes and decisions involved in making a brand.
This class is a hybrid studio class involving lectures and in-class work.
